Generally, Hamsas contain an eye symbol that represents protection from the evil eye. The stare of a person with evil intentions is said to be an evil eye. Such a glance may cause illness or have other negative effects on a person. Other than the eye a Hamsas may also include hexagram, heart or the word ‘Allah’ engraved in the centre of the palm.
